Solistop-10​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ comprises Solifenacin Succinate 10mg, one of the clinically proved antimuscarinic agents which is generally used in the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) and other related urinary symptoms like urgency, increased frequency, and urge urinary incontinence. Mechanism of Action

After administration, the solifenacin succinate specifically binds to M3 receptors in the detrusor muscle of the urinary bladder, thereby blocking the receptors. So reduction of bladder overactive contractions is achieved by the indirect effect of drug action thus compliance to patient’s urgent micturition and frequency requests can be achieved. It is also mentioned that Solifenacin is efficient in controlling the symptoms of OAB as it has fewer side effects than other anticholinergic agents due to its high receptor selectivity.

Indications

Solistop-10 is indicated for:

Overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and increased urinary frequency in adults.

Treatment with Solistop-10 may be advised as monotherapy or in conjunction with behavioral therapy by a healthcare professional.

Dosage & Administration

The initial dose suggestion is 5mg once daily, which may be further increased up to 10mg once daily depending on the patient’s response and tolerance.

Tablets should be taken with water and kept intact. It is advisable to take the drug once daily with or without food.

The dosage changes can occur in hepatorenal patients condition. Always adhere to the doctor’s instructions.

Safety & Precautions

The side effects that are often noticed by patients and can become uncomfortable are dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, as well as slight drowsiness.

The contraindicated group consists of patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or those suffering from a severe liver disease or urinary retention but they need to be under strict medical supervision if they use that medication.
